The house mouse is a small, slender rodent with small, black, somewhat projecting eyes, large, almost hairless ears, and a virtually hairless tail with obvious scale rings. Although some daytime activity may be observed, house mice are primarily nocturnal creatures. Even if it can be the case for certain other rodents, seeing mice during the daytime does not always indicate that there is a large population there. Mice rely on their hearing, sense of smell, taste, and touch in lieu of their weak eyesight (called colour blindness).
